Minnie Mae Patterson

Minnie Mae Patterson, 72, of DuQuoin, formerly of the Mt. Vernon Area, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2000 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Patterson had operated a catering service, was a homemaker, a foster parent and had managed the restaurant at Green Hills Country Club in Mt. Vernon for several years.
She was a member of Summersville Missionary Baptist Church and VFW Post 1376 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was born March 5, 1927 at Mt. Vernon, the daughter of John Burl and Lillian Pearl (Parsons) Artis.  She married Henry Everett on May 23, 1947 at Mt. Vernon and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Henry Everett Patterson of DuQuoin, she is survived by two sons, Stanley E. Patterson and wife Paulette of DuQuoin and Roger Patterson and wife Bonny of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Tim Patterson and wife Heather of Lincoln, Shauna Barber and husband Frank of Carterville, Sarah Mills and Husband Bradley of Kirkwood, MO and Jeff Patterson and wife Elizabeth of Seattle, WA; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Shirley Gregory and husband Carroll of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Virginia R.Artis.
Graveside services were Saturday, February 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Everett Lemay officiating.
Visitation was at Hughey Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday.
